Project Dolphin – Arrange [EP]

Project Dolphin’s Arrange EP was just released and it wears its influences on its sleeve, and even spells them out in the modern album sleeve – the description area on a Bandcamp page. Those influences are Japanese jazz fusion, in particular, the kind you’d hear in the opening credits of a Super Nintendo game, which is appropriate seeing as the cover for the EP is modeled after the packaging of SNES games. The sound is scarily accurate, and a lot more refreshing than another chiptune album trying to stir up nostalgia with bleeps and bloops.

  1. It’s about time these guys get some attention. Their first EP of original compositions is even better.
