CON VOS – “Central Park”
New York-based Con Vos formed when rap duo Fortunate Ones wanted to branch out beyond hip-hop. On “Coast”, they enter the ears confidently, strutting behind a fresh beat and lithe vocals. But ultimately the final results are a bit uneven. The singing from Sorcha Richardson compliments the aesthetic exceedingly well, but the rapping only flattens out the energy. Not to say it’s not without potential, considering Con Vos only came together earlier this year. Their debut EP Cocoon Bloom is set for release early next year. Color us intrigued.—Brian Hodge

These series of posts are great! As a long time reader, I feel like it reflects why this site became one of the two or three music blogs that I follow on a regular basis and the only one I read on a daily basis.
