Potholes Premiere: Zion I – “Masters of Ceremony” (Thriftworks Remix)

Zion IBay Area hip-hop fusion duo Zion I, consisting of rapper Zumbi and producer Amp Live have enlisted fellow Bay Area producer Thriftworks for a chillhop remix of the title song from their Masters of Ceremony EP that released earlier this year. Thriftworks remix can best be described as alternative, downtempo but still hip-hop. The heavy bass line lays the groundwork for the song, as bells and chimes echo in the background and harrowing vocals sing on the song’s chorus. In comparison to the original version, Thriftworks remix is definitely the superior of the two. Zion I crew is currently on tour on the West Coast and in select cities in Canada.
