Baltimore’s budding hip-hop scene continues to impress with its young upstart artists, producers, and other creatives. The latest talent to step into the limelight is up-and-coming rapper/producer Butch Dawson, who crafts his unique sounds under the producer moniker Jujuan Allen. He is well known around the city for his style of music he calls “Basement Rap,” a gritty organic style that finds him crafting his captivating tunes in home studios throughout the thriving city. His latest release comes in the form of the Que Nwaigwe-directed visual for his self-produced record “Red Leather Chair,” which can be found on his well-received release Lower Mercury. The haunting production is perfectly complemented by the sporadic nature of the video and the in your face style of rhymes effortlessly delivered by Dawson.
