Potholes Podcast (Toki Wright)

I told you guys we were going to start expanding upon our Podcast series! Instead of simply using this tool as a way to keep you in the loop each month, we will also begin to bring on some of our favorite artists to create mixes of some of their favorite tracks, as well as exclusives and other material they have released in the past. For our first guest Podcast, I am excited to present to you, Toki Wright! Many of you may know Toki Wright from his work with Rhymesayers and his acclaimed LP, A Different Mirror, but this mix serves as a great way to get to know Toki a little bit better. Digging deep into Toki’s influences, he decided to mix in everything from Chip Tha Ripper to Spoon to Bill Withers. Talk about an eclectic track listing!

A big shout out goes to our Art Director Theodore Taylor, as he provided the exceptional artwork once again!

Stream Toki Wright’s guest mix or check out the track listing and download it after the skip.

since he closed with one of my favorite De La Soul tracks, I’m gonna have to go ahead and give this mix a 10/10 before I even download it.

I like the variety of this as well as the reggae feel. I feel like I have been out of touch with reggae for a while.

I think I like the studio version of “The Freshest Kids” more. Just a side note. Still a sick song. Nothing but love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYky7kUWP_4
