Seeing how Paul White released one of our favorite EPs of the year with Watch The Ants, it only felt right to have him reprise his role as a Potholes Podcast curator. His second mix for us is a special one as it contains some previously unreleased tracks from the South London producer. Additionally, you’ll hear joints by jazz giants like Don Cherry, Wayne Shorter, and Gene Russell, all of whom get throw into this blustery and blunted blend of head-bobbing bangers. OK, maybe not bangers, but you get my point.
Here’s how White described his mix:
“The mix started with the thought we all need a few helpful sympathetic words from music sometimes, we all experience the same basic feelings and emotions as humans all together, and I was thinking about how that comforts me, and how beautiful it is that we have that. When you hear these same emotions being screamed out passionately by different people on different records, from all over the world, at different times in history, and in unique ways but the feeling always comes through and we feel it – even music without lyrics, or lyrics you don’t understand – you really feel connected with everybody, yourself, the world, and everything in it!”
You can stream the mix and view its track listing below. Purchase Watch The Ants on Amazon.

Fantastic stuff as usual from Paul. Absolutely love Opa by, “La Cumbia De Andres”. The best part about these podcasts is discovering amazing international artists, who I may never otherwise be exposed to.
