Hey guys. I don’t typically write about myself outside of my opinions and thoughts on music, and that time I looked back on my dead-in-the-water attempt at rapping. But this time I can’t help but self-promote something I am so ridiculously proud to take part in as part of the upcoming 2013 Hopscotch Music Festival in Raleigh, N.C.
On Sept. 3, which is the first day of the event, I’m taking part in a panel discussion at the City of Raleigh Museum on “the boon or burden of giving away music on the Internet.” Essentially, we’ll talk about the potential positives and negatives that come with offering music for free online. While this is pretty rad in its own right, here’s the full lineup of speakers with whom I’ll be sharing the panel:
- Marnie Stern
- Ivan Howard (The Rosebuds)
- Amelia Meath (Sylvan Esso)
- Nick Sanborn (Sylvan Esso)
- Eugene Robinson (Oxbow, Sal Mineo)
- Katey Perdoni (Eros and the Eschaton)
- Andrew Martin (Potholes in My Blog)
- Brian Howe (Moderator)
If you’re going to be in the city around then, do stop by. You can find out more information here.
