Did I expect to see Danny Brown and Jake One collaborating on a remix of Portugal. The Man’s “Evil Friends”? Of course not. But am I glad that this happened? You damn right I am. It features the Detroit MC going in over a boom-bap-oriented instrumental, which is certainly refreshing. Not only that, but the Seattle producer did the damn thing flipping the original track that now leaves me wondering if I’m sleeping on Portugal. The Man’s latest album, Evil Friends. Yeah, I probably am.
