On March 25, London jazz outfit Portico Quartet are getting ready to release their latest project, Live/Remix. Among the artists featured on the remix portion is none other than SBTRKT, who takes on “Line” with his signature bounce. While yes, the bass and percussion is beyond-noteworthy here, the same goes for the transitions. It’d be easy to just throw a dance groove behind “Line”, chop it up a bit, and let it ride—this type of remix happens far too often—but the way SBTRKT handles the production makes it sound like one of his own.
