Since coming across Pomo’s music in September 2013, the Montreal producer has firmly established himself as one of our favorite artists here at Potholes. For one thing, he delivered what stands as one of the illest Potholes Podcasts. Beyond that, though, I always appreciated the meticulous nature of his releases. Rather than flood the web with material, he dropped singles at a more chill pace, allowing his audience to actually listen to and digest his music.
It’s with that in mind that I’m excited to hear his debut EP, The Other Day, on HuhWhat&Where Recordings. The eight-track release is absolutely bursting with funk, sunny-day vibes, and everything else we all need in the ensuing winter months. While one could argue that a project like this is better suited for the warmer seasons, I disagree completely. We need bursts of music like this in the fall and winter, too, and I know that plenty of y’all will use this as your soundtrack to get through the grey, rainy, and snowy days.
