Poetic Republic – The Blackest Man Alive [Mixtape]

Talk about waking up to some nice surprises today. Shit. First, we had that blunted-as-fuck Domo Genesis album for your listening pleasure. And now, we bring you Poetic Republic’s latest effort, a street-album/mixtape dubbed The Blackest Man Alive. Hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, this group shows flashes of brilliance akin to the Rawkus era, particularly the Black Star record, with some dusty hints of Binary Star thrown in. At least, that’s the vibe I’m getting while spinning through The Blackest Man Alive, a 13-track project filled with rhymes and production that feel throwback but exude a forward-thinking mentality.

Hit the skip to download The Blackest Man Alive. You can stream “The Media” below. I’ve also included a link to their 2008 album, The Natural Progression of Things. Major, major props to the home RM London for the heads up!
