Open Mike Eagle & Ras G – “Warhorn”

This post is exciting for a number of reasons. Firstly, it is a collaboration between two Potholes favorites, Open Mike Eagle and Ras G. Secondly, and more importantly, it brings to our attention an admirable new project that these two artists have set out to achieve, a hip-hop outreach of sorts that will take place in Uganda. The program will involve a group of Ugandan youth, as Open Mike and Ras G teach them about the hip-hop culture and also involve them in the recording of a new album. The duo has already received a $7,000 grant from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and L.A. hip-hop non-profit organization, J.U.I.C.E. All they need to make this happen, though, is for the fans out there to match that grant. Donations can be made through their Stay Classy page.
