Open Mike Eagle hopped on my radar last year with Unapologetic Art Rap and I’ve been doing my best to keep up with the West Coast rapper ever since. He is apparently finishing up a new album, Rappers Will Die Of Natural Causes, that drops June 7. And the track “Nightmares” represents the first taste we’re getting of the project. It’s a terribly hypnotizing cut that demands repeated plays to fully grasp both the production and Mike’s lyrics. This might be my favorite track from the dude yet — and that’s saying a lot — so you can bet your ass we will be covering anything and everything he releases leading up to Natural Causes.

Willie fuckin’ Green. Jesus, he just keeps getting nastier EVERY TIME I hear a cut from him. This track was awesome.
