Last year Oneohtrix Point Never released Replica, a chilling and dark collection of obscure vocal samples expertly arranged around large amounts of ambient textures and open space. FaltyDL makes electronic music on a different end of the spectrum with fuller, more beat driven compositions. The two different styles established, the title track and highlight “Replica” remixed by FaltyDL is sure to turn out to be worth a few listens on principle. It’s not just interesting in theory, but it works pretty damn well in practice too. The track is almost completely unrecognizable except for the piano wandering in and out through the background. The track will be released on a Replica remix project slated for a June 12 release, but it is now available for streaming.
