Oddisee returns with another great (and free) track from his recently released Odd Seasons compilation, which Potholesian Marcus Moore raved about in his review. “You Don’t Close Your Eyes” follows the tale of a relationship gone sour. And now, in Oddisee’s words, the same spot where he and his girl used to steam up the windows in their car is just another place where they talk (and probably argue). It’s one of my personal favorite lyrical moments from the Brooklyn resident, though I also can’t get enough of that gorgeous bass and keys-led production.
