Oddisee might be living in Brooklyn now, but he hasn’t forgotten about his hometown of Washington, D.C. In particular, he continues to have fond memories of the city’s Rock Creek Park, which serves as the inspiration for his forthcoming album of the same name. Rock Creek Park might not be due out until Sept. 6 — it drops next Tuesday, Aug. 23 on iTunes — but the rapper-producer is already dishing out the goods, aka free downloads. The first is a soulful, funky, and jazzy joint called “The Carter Barron”, which is heavy on the drums and piano and probably the smoothest track you’ll hear today.
