In the past year, we’ve highlighted the strong production work of Chicago’s Odd Couple through his collaborations with Nick Astro and Alex Wiley. But with the newly released “We Cool,” Odd Couple heads out on his own with a beyond-infectious single that’ll instantly turn around anyone’s day. You’ll have a pretty damn difficult time putting down the effervescent mixture of synths, whistles, record scratches, and drums blasting throughout the track, which only gets that much better when the Anthony Hamilton sample returns.
The celebratory/anthemic nature of “We Cool” is fitting, because Odd Couple has some great news to share. He is officially the latest addition to the ever-growing and talented roster at Closed Sessions, which is putting out his next project, Chatterbox. We don’t have a date for the instrumental album just yet, but it’s off to a damn good start here.
