“Live For Now” is the empowering new single from Seattle rapper Nissim, who you might recognize from his work under the name D.Black several years ago. If so, you might also remember that he took some time off from music to explore his faith, which led to his full conversion to Orthodox Judaism and his name change. He’s been back for a lil’ bit now, though, and we’re excited to bring y’all his movie-like visuals for “Live For Now”.
“Real” life experiences served as the video’s inspiration, because Nissim wanted to capture the pressing situations that today’s youth can relate to. “I wanted to say with this video, that’s it OK to run, choosing to live,” he told us via e-mail. Additionally, he explained that the locations used in the video “remind us that our teens/youth are troubled everyday in our schools, neighborhoods and cities.” He added that we all need to open our eyes to see these situations and, more importantly, “make an effort to prevent them.”
