Rappers are just like you. When they want to get some attention, they love making some huge, sweeping statements to gain some attention. No one is innocent of this, including Nicki Minaj. During a newly revealed interview with MTV, the Young Money artist stated that she doesn’t get the credit she deserves. She also made the declaration that she is lyrically better than most males rappers.
Personally, she’s capable of being lyrically sharper than her male counterparts, but her watered-down pop fluff doesn’t really help her case. Yes, “Monster” is and forever will be incredible (especially her verse) and she has other standout moments. Also, many of her contemporaries are either falling off (Rick Ross, potentially) or have fallen off already (Lil Wayne, pretty much).
I don’t typically like to indulge self-loving stuff like this, but it can lead to an interesting discussion so here we are. What do you y’all think?
