A few days ago, Nas set out to raise $20,000 for a single, unemployed father and his eight children in Washington, D.C. who had lost their home in a fire. The money was to be used to help cover the family’s extended stay at a hotel in the city and perhaps even a down payment on a permanent home. And within what felt like no time at all, Nas and his CrowdTilt campaign have already surpassed their goal and then some.
The amount, as of this post, sits at $33,585 and continues to grow by the minute. Now that numerous news outlets, including WJLA/ABC7, have picked up on his campaign, Nas has increased the goal to $50,000 and sent out the following message:
Never Stop, Never Settle. I live by that motto. We’ve done a lot for Stanley and his 8 kids in the last few hours, but I know this is just the beginning of the incredible generosity of our community. So I’ve raised our goal to $50,000, to give an even larger gift for the Youngs to hopefully find a more permanent home instead of a temporary one.
