Mr. Dibbs – Inducing Panic [EP]

Venerable Midwestern producer and turntablist Mr. Dibbs just posted an EP via Souncloud that actually dropped two years ago but somehow slipped under our radar. Titled Inducing Panic, that’s a pretty apt description. Dibbs employs a jagged, somewhat jarring sound palette throughout most of the EP, favoring high-impact drum machines and lightning-quick cuts, interspersed with prank call skits and an absolutely massive Black Sabbath flip.

While occasionally sounding a touch dated, the simple fact is that in this age of software synths and digital sample manipulation, you don’t see a ton of pure, throwback turntablism anymore, and Mr. Dibbs has been honing his craft longer than some of the young-buck producers we post have been alive. Give Inducing Panic a spin to get back to your roots.
