This track, which is the latest single off Mr. Brady’s Labor Of Love, is for all of you whining about the fact that Aloe Blacc is singing a lot more than he’s rapping these days. I mean, I get why you feel that way. He was great as part of Emanon with Exile and he also dropped a fair amount of slick rappin’ guest features. But as Shine Through displayed, Blacc is an eccentric cat who wants to do what he wants. Thankfully, what he wants to do is just make solid, creative music, which he does with ease. Case in point: His decision to bring back his rhyming for this laid-back, super-mellow West Coast jam, “Catch”.
