Monster Rally – “Island On Fire”

Our good buddy (and awesome musician) Ross, aka Datahowler, first hipped us to the sounds of Monster Rally last October, when we wrote about the Columbus, Ohio-based act’s Color Sky EP. And after hearing that project, I couldn’t help but liken the dude’s music to a blend of Madlib’s more lo-fi work with tropical punk jams. But that’s not to say Monster Rally’s sound isn’t distinctly his own, because it absolutely is. It’s also just a hell of a lot of fun, as you will hear on “Island on Fire”. This track stems from the sessions for his recently released Coral album, which we somehow slept on when it dropped in January.
