Mike G – “Forest Green”

If this new track from Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All’s resident lover of Houston hip-hop is any indication, it looks like we can also expect an album from Mike G this year, too. You know, to go along with Tyler, the Creator’s Goblin and MellowHype’s physical release of Blackenedwhite. They’re also planning on recording two more records this year, but that’s beside the point. Because the point here is that Mike G might be the most overlooked and under-appreciated member of OFWGKTA. And that just ain’t right. You’ll understand after you hear him creep over Left Brain’s jungle-ish production.

Alright… I’m not sure if you heard Mike Check… His first release… http://www.mediafire.com/?a036270cjc2dlgb

  2. Not the most creative lyrically but he shits on a lotta lyrical content coming out of the south right now. At least he’s not pretending to be a thug on the microphone. I’d like to hear more from this dude before I judge.

They’re all good, but Mike G is on another level man… Too intricate with his lyrics… “Rap slow, but factual…”

Mike G is probably the most clever lyricist besides hodgy in OF. Also, i wouldn’t say Tyler is “creative” with his lyrics. A lot of it is Eminem-inspired but on a less personal level.

  5. Andrew got me up on Ali…I see the range now. I dig it.

I’d have to say Domo Genesis is the most overlooked/underappreciated of the group … His project was the 2nd best solo under Tyler’s IMO.

Not a fan of Mike G…

  7. I think I’m gonna have to continue overlooking and underappreciating after that one.
