Producer Mike Dean put in some work on both Kanye West and Jay-Z’s new albums, Yeezus and Magna Carta Holy Grail, and he wasn’t too keen to see that fellow producer Hudson Mohawke had some criticism for the latter. This all went down on the cesspool also known as Twitter, where anyone can give their opinion and get blasted for it. All that aside, Dean and HudMo’s exchange led to the revelation that Kanye and Jay are indeed recording Watch The Throne 2, though who knows if it will have that title. It’s not clear when it’ll drop, either, but I’m willing to bet next year.
Oh yeah, here’s the confirmation:
@HudMo yep. It’s happening.

No thank you at all. Jay needs to branch out with different producers.
i hope to god they dont. both are better solo. i don’t want to hear a Travi$ Scott produced Niggas in Tokyo song 20 times.
the album is like a movie that does not need a sequel. it will disappoint because Watch The Throne is marketed as the end all and be all of everything hip-hop.
i liked the first album, but it is so contrived and overdone. and i feel like in many ways people like it because it is Ye and Hov but if it were any other artists doing the same shit people would dismiss.
maybe it is just me, but i want less Watch the Throne and more Black Star. alternative back pack rap that rebirth in 2008-2009 and now it seems to be gone. it is all twitter rap. Watch the Throne album would take it too far and over the top. i can’t even get excited.
