Here’s the deal: I was, like everyone else it seems, digging Miguel’s gigantic single, “All I Want Is You”. It wasn’t invasive or obnoxious like most R&B jams these days and it featured some on-point guest rhymes fromĀ J. Cole. But somewhere along the line, Miguel’s vision became…slanted and more geared to catering to too wide an audience. As such, his resulting debut, All I Want Is You, was a middling affair with flashes of brilliance marred by pop-pandering. It’s for that reason that it kind of warms my heart to see him deliver such a stripped-down version of the title-track for the folks at Fader.
Hit the skip to learn whether or not Miguel plays his tunes for females…oh and to peep the guitar-and-vocals take on “All I Want Is You”.

great post. I feel you on Miguel’s album, no doubt, but you can’t deny it’s hot and it makes me excited for what he’s got in store. Hopefully another joint with J. Cole! Definitely check out the “Sure Thing” video, it’s hot, and this jam I find myself loving even more than “All I Want Is You” ha! http://bit.ly/dX68bE
