MiC Terror – ‘Fresh Prince Of Darkness’

MiC Terror

Mic Terror dropped a stream for his latest effort, Fresh Prince Of Darkness, via Closed Sessions today to accompany the available digital purchase of the album. As the name implies, it features the Riverdale, IL rapper getting into all sorts of deviant antics over pseudo-grimy beats. If the rhymes don’t compel, the memetic hooks might.

Stream the project below. If you like it, support independent music and buy Fresh Prince Of Darkness via iTunes.

The reason I am going to listen to this is because I was introduced to Mic Terror back in 2008.

I think it was because he had some mix tape track produced by Chuck Inglish and back in that year The Cool Kids were my obsession.

I find it amusing how it is six years later and this guy is still grinding even though most for better or worse would have. Also, the hip-hop music self produced industry has really evolved.

In 2014, mix tapes are pretty much free albums and they are expected to be more than freestyles. Mic Terrors 2008 tape was mostly subprime sound quality freestyle beats. Producer credits were not given for most songs and cover art was not that important. Today I can see how much things changed and progressed over the years. Oddly, it does not feel like that long ago.
