Mestizo & Reid – “Puddles”

Mestizo is a rapper who wikipedia tells me, takes his name from a term created by Spain’s colonization of America. It was used to describe a person who had a mixed heritage, consisting of both indigenous American and European descent. The other artist, Reid, is someone we’ve featured before when he went by Real Reid and put out a track about the always fun Lowrider hydraulics. Together, the LA-based rappers put together a dark song, with talks of screams, robbery and hanging former presidential candidate and Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard, David Duke. All the murder talk is done over a guitar and piano infused beat that sounds worthy of being the sole tune for a player piano in Leatherface’s home. According to New World Color, Reid’s mixtape is forthcoming and Mestizo’s album is dropping in November.
