While Mayer Hawthorne could have stuck to his wildly successful formula of vintage soul, the true artist inside of him has decided to shift into a new gear. First evidence of that came from the first single “A Long TIme” from his upcoming How Do You Do album — showing Mayer’s exploration of the world of Hall & Oates and other notable 80′s pop music. To continue on down that path, Mayer has taken to Chromeo’s “When The Night Falls”, covering the track with groovy instrumentation and the always lively vocals we have come to know and love. Mayer happens to be touring with Chromeo right now, which makes this collaboration all the more likely.
