Listening to Mayer Hawthorne and the County’s cover of ELO’s “Mr. Blue Sky” leaves me with conflicted feelings. I can’t front: They absolutely kill it here. The track sounds fantastic and I can’t wait to hear the rest of the Impressions EP when it drops later this week as it’s set to include covers of Chromeo and the Isley Brothers. But personally, I would love to know Hawthorne was working on a follow-up to A Strange Arrangement instead. Call me a whiner if you must, but I have played the hell out of that album and need something new, damn it!
