The husband & wife indie-pop outfit Mates of State are posed to release their sixth full album Mountaintops this September via Barsuk. To get things rolling they released a tongue-in-cheek, 80’s style music video for the lead single “Maracas”, replete with seasick synth pads, cheesy lighting, and disembodied vocals. Check the drummer, he looks like a combination of Xavier de Rosnay and that creepy ballet instructor from Black Swan.
