For whatever reason, I let Chicago double-threat Martin $ky‘s recent stream of singles pass me by despite really enjoying his appearance on ProbCause‘s latest mixtape, The Recipe Vol. II. But no more. $ky released his own free project late last night in Time(Less), which features him flowing mostly over his own top-notch production. There are some exceptions, though, like the Knxwledge and Mndsgn jacks, with the former providing the woozy backdrop for opening tune “Track 01”.
Fans of cats like Vince Staples and Earl Sweatshirt dead-eyed delivery will no doubt hear similarities on Time(Less), but that’s more a reference point than a direct comparison. $ky is doing his damn thing on here, and that’s to be commended and properly recognized.
