Mara Hruby – From Her Eyes [EP]

Yeah, yeah, I’m super-late here posting Mara Hruby’s From Her Eyes EP. But I’ll be damned if this isn’t one of those “better late than never” deals. The sultry singer hopped on my radar last week with the release of the super-chill visuals for EP standout “Lose Myself (Stereolab)”. When I ventured to her Bandcamp page, I found that she was offering the entire project for free download and had to hear what else she had in store. It turns out she covered some of my favorite tracks, including Mos Def’s “The Panties”, and not only did them justice but also put a new spin on ’em. Well done, Ms. Hruby.
