Madlib Reveals ‘Rock Konducta’ Details, Streams Lead Single

madlib-rock-konductaWhat? You thought Madlib would take the rest of 2014 off after releasing Pinata with Freddie Gibbs? If you thought that, you obviously don’t know Madlib at all. The prolific producer (and wearer of many other hats) is ready to drop his next solo project, the much-anticipated Rock Konducta, very soon. And when I say soon, I mean July 15. As for what we can expect from the project, here’s the deal: It’s set to feature more than 50 (!!!) new instrumentals from Madlib. According to RappCats, he apparently found his “source material from various worldwide rock scenes from the 60s through the 80s, from American psychedelia to Germany’s Krautrock to acid-soaked Spanish prog to synthy, early-80s oddities.” Um, yes please. If you’re drooling right now after reading this, you’ll want to head here to pre-order the album.

UPDATE: You can stream the lead single, “Black Dreams (Sludge Fight)”.
