“It’s a trap,” the board game Mouse Trap, any time I see the word trap now I cringe (Inwardly. An inward cringe that you can’t see because it’s inward). So many want to “beez” in the trap in 2012, and it feels like that time chillwave spawned dedicated blogs with a lifespan similar to that of some snack cakes and other unhealthy confections. Machinedrum speaks for many of us with this short, audible funeral procession, “TRAP FUNERAL R I P.”
Is this like when Nas did that thing where he proclaimed that thing in an album title, or will snares still roll? The answer is snare rolls will still roll. Some musicians that recently hopped onto the trap wagon will hop off and we’ll all be able to appreciate what remains for the music alone, without thinking of that currently-hackneyed four-letter word that has garnered an amount of momentary hate that’s at least a quarter of what Kanye West felt for paparazzi. We’ll all remember the original synth lines we briefly lost in the noise of countless bouncy 808-supported instrumentals when these producers decide that G-funk is the new old sound ripe for the 2013 picking. Until then, let’s all gather and hold an e-seance for the sole purpose of communicating with the spirits of Shawty Redd and DJ Toomp to express our admiration.
I found this on soundcloud, Trap-a-Holics man.
Update: So “TRAP FUNERAL R I P” got taken down, but this death-to-swag anthem sounds pretty similar, promise!

MACHINEDRUM IS GOING TO TRAP YOU WITH THIS ONE FOR SHURE !!!! HEHE 🙂

Machinedrum’s actual (soundcloud) version is too short…I hope it is extended.
