Lupe Fiasco & Pete Rock To Collaborate After Sampling Controversy

Lupe-sittingIf you heard Lupe Fiasco‘s new single — the “They Reminisce Over You”-sampling/interpolating “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)” — you probably saw some headlines about how Pete Rock wasn’t too happy with the Chicago rapper. Rock felt that it was a load of bullshit that his most personal song would get treated in that way, especially in the form of a major-label single. And, of course, everyone and their mother weighed in on the, erm, fiasco on Twitter, Facebook, and the like.

But it appears that the wave of bullshit has crashed and dissipated, as Lu and Rock are apparently hitting the studio together soon to collaborate. At least, that’s what the legendary rapper-producer said on Twitter last night:

“I just got off da phone lupe, we worked out our differences and we bout to get it in. Gonna be epic and we gonna give Troy and hev the proper respect they deserve and make history with lupe.”

So what’s everybody think about this? Good? Bad? Don’t care? Let us know.
