Low Leaf – UNEARTHly [Album]

low-leaf-unearthlyLos Angeles singer/producer/harp player Low Leaf has been busy since releasingĀ Alchemizing Dawn in the fall of 2012. She’s been playing out as much as possible (from what I’ve gathered) while also laying down portions of her latest project. It’sĀ UNEARTHly, a 10-track album that finds its footing in a smattering of sounds and styles. There are glitchy elements, portions that sound like they’re ripped from video games, rap and sing-song vocals, gorgeous textures, and so much more. It’s quite a bit to hear in one sitting, so repeated listens are recommended. For standout cuts, I’m going with “Hawkwizdom”, “yUdUyU”, and “Hidden Rainforest Supply”, the last of which sounds just as awesome as you’d hope with a name like that.

It’s got a pay-what-you-want rate right now, so cop or download accordingly.

  1. Peter: I have no idea what they’re talking about. It’s like they’re speaking a different… You know, that’s where I lose interest in it.

Lois: The language they’re speaking is a language of subtlety; it’s something you don’t understand.

Peter: I love The Money Pit. That is my answer to that statement.
