Not once will you regret listening to “San Lucas” during its five minute running time. Released on Oct. 1, the track serves as an excellent glimpse into the promising, as-of-now mysterious young career of Love Mansuy, a spirited voice that would not feel out-of-place as the foundation for a crossover alt-rock band.
“So where is she going?” asks Mansuy, a Montreal native, as he details the narrative of a woman always on the move. Backed by an ear-catching collective of guitars, drums, and organ arrangements, the vocals and instrumentation complement one another well. The result is a seamless and continuous experience that succeeds in that it never grows boring, forcing us to echo the questions posed by the artist and wonder where his muse will ultimately end up.
