When I sit down and think about it, I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen TOKiMONSTA speak in person. Despite her rise to beat scene stardom, she remains a bit of an Internet enigma. Today, we get a brief glimpse into her creative process, as she invites us into her home and studio to show off her recent remix of The Pioneers’ “Let Your Yeah Be Yeah”.
And, if you are familiar with her past work, you know that TOKiMONSTA won’t just flip a few elements of the original track. Instead, she employs an entirely fresh drum arrangement and throws in all sorts of synthesizers to take things to the next level. The remix and short documentary are in association with Clarks Originals’ #ORIGINALSREMIXED series, which has already put out a few awesome tracks from the likes of Toddla T, Mighty Crown and more.
