As a slight teaser of his upcoming self-titled debut, U.K. artist the Child of Lov just dropped a five-track mixtape called Crying Thunder. With a name like that, you’re bound to expect big things and, thankfully, the project delivers. The title-track is on a codeine-laced psych-rock tip while his cover of the Beatles’ “Helter Skelter” is equally ballsy and bonkers. It also sounds like something Beck recorded for Mellow Gold, slowed vocal effects and all.
