Way back in December 2012, Brainfeeder producer Mono/Poly shared a loosie on his Soundcloud by the name of “Ra Rise.” At that time, I figured it was a rough draft of a tune that’d land on an upcoming project and, sure enough, I was right on the money. The West Coast artist has finally announced his new album, Golden Skies, and it’s due out on Aug. 25 in all formats. And until we learn anything else about it, we’ll have to just keep this cut on repeat—I know I am. For me, it’s those little melodic touches, which sound like reversed vocal samples, that really bring this one home.
