Kanye West sat down with BBC Radio 1′s Zane Lowe for a nearly one-hour-long interview that touches on damn near everything you’d want. At first, it’s mostly about the music, namely his Yeezus record and the way that he thinks it sounds: ”This is what frustration sounds like.”
From there, Yeezy talks about pushing John Legend and Pusha T to be their best before speaking on some his plans for the future. Apparently he wants to do ”water bottle design, architecture,” and other stuff outside of the music world because he doesn’t want to be limited to that area of creativity. He then goes on to talk about going to Hypebeast and the comments he sees, wanting to create uniforms for his hometown of Chicago, being the anchor of the first trillion-dollar company, and so, so much more.
Here are some choice quotes from the first bit that I got the chance to hear before heading out:
“There’s no one in this space that looks like me and if they are, they’re quiet as f-ck.”
“I’m the number-one rock star on the planet.”
“For me, as Kanye West, I would not be Kanye West if it wasn’t for Michael Jackson.”
Alright. You can listen to the entire interview below and purchase Yeezus on Amazon.
