Listen: Seven Davis Jr’s Very Funky “Wild Hearts” & “Let Somebody Love You”

Seven Davis JrLos Angeles, California native, and Ninja Tune artist, Seven Davis Jr recently released his new single “Wild Hearts”. The vocalist/producer is influenced by Prince, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson, but his musical output has always leaned more towards disco, house, dance and funk. Some of you may remember his breakout song “One” released back in 2013. He’s also released a retrospective EP on Kutmah’s IZWID imprint and 12″s on Must Have Records and Funkineven’s Apron Records.

The recently released “Wild Hearts” single also includes with “Let Somebody Love You” as the b-side. Both are groovy-heavy anthems that will have you dancing all night. It’s always good to hear that balance between soulful vocals and a good rhythm. Both songs are reminiscent of Peven Everett, and that’s definitely a good thing. Seven Davis Jr’s “Wild Hearts” is available now on Ninja Tune, you can purchase it here.
