We previously reported that Nas was supposed to have a Frank Ocean collaboration on the newly released Life Is Good. But if you have been keeping up with that story, you no doubt learned that the person who lost it was actually the producer, Hit-Boy, aka the dude behind “Ni**as in Paris” and other joints.
And as sad as it is that we won’t get to hear that tune, I think this latest bit from Nasir is a million times more difficult to learn. Apparently his previous album, Untitled, was going to be a joint album with Jay Electronica. The plan was to have Electronica produce the entire project while Nas, of course, would provide the raps. Ugh. You have to imagine they would have spit some verses together, too.
Sigh. Anyway, he told the story to BBC Radio 1′s Benji B as part of an interview that touched on Life Is Good, “The Don”, his friendship with Amy Winehouse, and more.
