Listen: Frank Leone & Saba Cross Paths On “Toad Vision”

We’d all be doomed if our planet collided with another. When the world of one rapper conflates with that of another, however, our perspective of the two can grow deeper, fuller. Illinois native Frank Leone and Chicago artist Saba have created some of the best music their state’s seen the past year or two, so “Toad Vision,” their collaborative effort and Leone’s last single before EnterWILD drops, has us hitting that play button again and again.

Produced by Frank, “Vision” bounces off the strength of neon piano notes that fall out for the rap-less hook, an angelic, ghostly choir sampled from Yeasayer’s striking song, “Sunrise.” Leone and Saba supply plenty of bounce themselves. Both rattle off rhymes at blistering speeds, though the latter lends some slow-paced swagger to his first bars before letting loose and charging ahead.

Grab your headphones (or a good speaker!) and turn on “Toad Vision” below. You can follow Leone and Saba on Twitter. EnterWILD drops this month; you’ll definitely want to check for that.
