Amid mindful listeners lamenting the lack of substance in his last release, Ezko returns with “Afrodite,” a poignant single that pairs the maturing rapper with the sweet singing of featured guest, Selinax. The rapper begins by painting a portrait of his dream girl, a rare, Jordan-rocking chick who’s into her intellect much more than the internet. Though the love story gone wrong boasts a clean, clear progression, Ezko’s seamless delivery stands as the highlight here. A handful of lines will grace your face with grimaces ( A “When life gives you lemons…” pun and a stale bond struck between spreading legs and buttering bread are low points) but Ezko survives wholly intact. His smooth flow bolsters every line, leaving even the weakest links manageable.
