We’re less than three weeks away from Big K.R.I.T.‘s forthcoming sophomore album Cadillactica. And even though he’s blessed us with numerous mixtapes through out, it’s always interesting to see if an underground hip-hop favorite can break into the mainstream without legitimately compromising. Choruses always seem to be the Achilles heel for K.R.I.T. musically, but this time he enlists none other than the soul man himself, Raphael Saadiq.
The combination is really good. On their collaboration for “Soul Food, ” we get this guitar melody, introspective lyrics, and then top it off with Raphael Saadiq on the hook as well as the production. So far K.R.I.T. has blessed us with the title song, “Pay Attention” and “Mt. Olympus” which will all be featured on his new album.
Big K.R.I.T.’s new album Cadillactica is in stores Nov. 11. You can pre-order it on Amazon now.
