The Brooklyn-based label Paxico Records continues to be awesome with yet another release — this time by LA producer Like. Aside from his work as a member of the Pac Div trio, Like provides production to other fellow peers (ex. Kendrick Lamar’s somber “Sing About Me” from his Grammy-nominated good kid, m.A.A.d city). The time recently came for Like to drop some new solo material, and out comes his Paxico debut Soundscape.
The tape’s cover art depicts a plethora of various entities bounded together such as the late great J Dilla, Darryl from classic film Coming To America, a Maschine, a sole Allen Iverson signature shoe and a Lets Jam! hair gel jar floating in space, the sound of Soundscape delivers the same feel, but in audio form. Catch an euphoric ride into the mind one of LA’s sought-after beatmakers at the moment, which is both raw and cosmic intertwined as one.
You can the stream songs “Bootsy’s Groove” and “Nothing Matters” below, and purchase Soundscape digitally or on cassette via Paxico Records here.
