Lexx – Beats Vol. 1 [Beat Tape]

After Donuts it’s a bit unnecessary to say that a producer seems influenced by J Dilla. So, yes, while Lexx’s Beats Vol. 1 leads me to believe he was a fan of the late Mr. Yancey’s work, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Diplo or fellow Baltimore producer Blaqstarr were a couple of his favorites as well. There are sound effects that could have come from the innards of an arcade cabinet combined with the occasional music sample or weird clip of dialogue from who knows what. The project is from late last year, so it’d be interesting to hear what his sound is like a year later.
