After U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Madeline Cox Arleo gave Lauryn Hill a break in court yesterday for tax evasions, the singer still has to come up with $504,000 she owes in back taxes by May 6. While that is quite a chunk of change, Hill reportedly signed a $1 million deal with Sony Music last summer, which only required the recording of five new songs. The Fugees singer apparently also has more incentives to record a full album, but she hasn’t even hit the studio according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Sandra Moser.
Stay tuned as this interesting development unfolds. [via]
